2008-2009 Camaro - Dominant or Not?
As we draw closer to the time when Chevy is supposed to release the new Camaro, I get more and more giddy, just like a little school girl on prom night, wondering what can, and will come to pass when it’s released, they’ve said that their going to aim at the $20,000 dollar price range for a base model, and the design concept is very good, it could use some slight tweaks, but I won’t get in to that here, overall they did a very good job on this car, not quite as good as Dodge done on the challenger, but it’s a great car.

The engine options on the car are good, and the interior look really nice, it could be everything that a new gen muscle car freak wants, I will not sell it short, it has just enough power to be a true contender in the new muscle car wars, if they come to pass, with it’s available 400 HP V8 engine, and it’s 6 speed manual transmission this will be a formidable muscle car, some of the other players do edge out in the HP battle, but I think it will be a good race between all of them.

Nothing could possibly be more exciting to me then the return of the Camaro, this car made it’s mark in the history of muscle cars, the the new Camaro has great potential to do the same thing again, if ti’s not choked off with a bunch of performance robbing emissions crap , or god forbid it has no option for a V8 performance engine, if it only has a 4 or 6 cylinder, Chevy may as well write it off now, it’s time for them to show their true colors here, I realize that Chevy still has in my opinion the ultimate performance car ever built, the Corvette, and that can’t be denied.

But id the Camaro is not a true muscle car, there is no point to even bother with it, a Camaro is not a fuel economy car, it’s a high performance car, and it one of the cars that established Chevy as a true muscle car builder, you can’t Dennie that the ZL1 Camaro was one mean beast, one of the premier muscle cars ever built, and the Yenko Camaro is in the same realm along with the Baldwin Motion Camaro, and Nickey Chevrolet.

These cars helped to establish Chevrolet’s muscle car reputation, and a predecessor should be nothing less then top notch, it should be impressive in all aspects of muscle car-ism, and nothing should be left out.

I’ve been in the automotive business for about 20 or 25 years, I have worked in all facets of the industry, from parts to restoration, all different makes and models, I just want to keep people interested in the old cars because it’s where my heart is.
