I’ve been working with limo companies in Pittsburgh for the last few years and noticed that many people are confused on the process of renting a limousine. Many people don’t ask the right questions or worse yet - don’t ask any questions at all. So I decided to write an article on the steps you should take if you plan on renting a limo for your special occasion. These steps hold true whether you are looking for limousine services for birthdays, proms, or just a fun night on the town!

When deciding to rent a limousine, there are some steps you should take.

First Step: Know the answers to the common questions: What type of limousine (Standard Stretch, Super Stretch, SUV Hummer, Escalade, Rolls Royce); Do you have a desired color?; How many passengers will you have?; How many hours you would like to rent the limousine?

Second Step: While most people take for granted that all companies are equal, this is far from the truth. Most customers are concerned with the hourly rate first and this is a classic mistake, since most of the time you get what you pay for!

When you are quoted a price that is much lower than other companies be aware that it probably means the limousine is older and over used. So the word to the wise: If you want a first class vehicle and professional service you may want to pay a little more.

Third Step: Ask questions! Will the limousine company provide you with a live person to contact during your scheduled event should you require any assistance. If not, be certain to obtain a contact phone number of an operating manager in charge.

* How long has the limousine company been in business?

* Do they have testimonials from past clients?

* Is your driver familiar with the area you are going to be driving to? Remember, just because a driver know the bar districts like the South side or the Strip doesn’t mean they know every remote Pittsburgh suburbs.

* How big is their limo fleet?

* Does the vehicle have air conditioning and heat controlled from the passenger area?

* Are there minimum hour requirements?

* Is the gratuity/tip included in the final price?

* How much are tolls if applicable?

* Are there TVs/VCR installed?

* Are the vehicles fully stocked and are the drinks complimentary?

* Does your company charge for driving time to and form the limousine rental

company or does the time start when the driver arrives at your pick up location?

* How are the drivers dressed?

*Does your limo allow your party discounted entrance into any Pittsburgh clubs or bars?

*If renting for a wedding and want to display a “Just Married” sign can it be attached to the limo? If so, does the company provide a sign or allow you to attach your own. Are there extra fees for this service?
